Chapter Eight

Ryland

“Thank you,” I whispered before brushing my lips across hers, nibbling at the corners. It wasn’t enough. I held the back of her head in place and deepened the kiss, ravishing her mouth until we were both panting for oxygen. Holing her securely with my hands on her ass, I stood and her legs circled my waist. A groan rumbled in my chest and I couldn’t stop myself from losing myself in another soul-stealing kiss. “I love your mouth,” I murmured when I released her lips. “I could do nothing but kiss you all day long.”

Kassidy smirked and wiggled her ass, causing the heat of her core to graze my cock. “Just kiss, huh?”

A roguish grin slid onto my face and I winked at her. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t fuck you when the day was over.”

She laughed, shaking her head while I carried her into the master bathroom and set her on a counter. Her eyes had grown to the size of saucers as she took in the room around her. The white and black swirled marble she was sitting on spanned the wall, a sink on one end, drawers in the middle, and a vanity at the other end. Rather than one long mirror, there were three square mirrors, each in a black frame. On the wall directly across from her was the same set up, minus the vanity. Back wall was, of course, floor-to-ceiling windows, except the center section pushed out and held a massive, black, sunken bath tub. It gave the illusion of floating and the view added to the relaxed ambience. The cut out actually butted up to the one end of the terrace and there was a door to the left that led out to it.

Kassidy’s eyes had settled on the tub and she was staring longingly at it. “It’s yours any time you want to use it, sweetheart. This is your home.” Her face lit up and her blue eyes sparkled with delight. She moved to hop off of the counter, but I held her hips to keep her in place, laughing. “Okay, not any time.” She frowned and I gave in to an urge to kiss her pouty lips. “I’m assuming you only brought one night’s worth of clothes.”

“Oh. Right,” she agreed, understanding my point.

“We’ll take a shower, which I promise is just as spectacular”—I walked to a glass door next to the vanity and opened it to reveal a shower the size of a large walk-in closet with more glass facing the water behind my house—“then head into town and get enough of your things to get you by until we can have the rest moved here.” There was a panel on the wall beside it and I fiddled with it until I was satisfied with the settings.

Kassidy sighed. “Ryland, I agreed to four weeks—” Her words became muffled, lost in the fabric of her shirt as I slid it up and off of her.

“You’re right,” I placated for the moment.
